Ymir was a graduate of the 104th Training Brigade and a former member of the Survey Corps. She had the ability to transform into the Jaw Titan, and possessed knowledge about the true nature of the Titans as well as the history of the Outside World.

At first glance, Ymir seems very indifferent to others, the kind of self-centered, cynical person who appears arrogant toward her comrades. However, we later discover that she can be very caring and affectionate with those close to her, particularly through her relationship with Historia Reiss (Christa Lenz).
